Housewares Business-to-business magazine for housewares retailers and their suppliers
The up-market US kitchenware and homewares giant Williams-Sonoma is planning to enter the UK market.
The retailer, which has 560 stores in the US and Canada, is reported to be looking for premises in London of between 5,000 and 8,000sq ft, and hopes to open its doors in the first half of next year.
Williams-Sonoma employs over 7,700 people and operates stores under its own name as well as those of Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm.
The news comes hot on the heels of reports that Crate and Barrel is also looking to cross the Atlantic, with the launch of its spin-off CB2 format here. Like Williams-Sonoma, that US home furnishings specialist is also targeting the London area.
