It will handle products from Forma House and Joseph Joseph, and open for business on January 1. The agency still has to be named.

Marchant told HousewaresLive.net: “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do because I love cookshops and I feel I know what service they will want/need from an agent.”

He said he felt “great” making the full transition from retail to sales: “I’m really looking forward to visiting other shopkeepers and talking shop.”

Paul Marchant was managing director of Marchants Cookware Emporium in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and Marchants Cookware in Saffron Walden, Essex, until selling the business to cookshop chain Steamer Trading earlier this year.
