ProCook teams up with River Cottage

ProCook has launched a competition to win a one day cookery course, courtesy of River Cottage.

One winner will join the River Cottage team for day of interactive learning at its One Day Cookery School. Described as a fun and informal introduction to cooking, the winner will take a look at a host of different techniques and create a seasonal starter, a main and pudding.

The day runs from 10am to 4pm and is held at River Cottage HQ on the Devon/Dorset borders. The closing date for entries is August 22.

Cookery writer, broadcaster and campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is widely known for his commitment to seasonal, ethically produced food and has earned a huge following through his River Cottage TV series and books.

His early smallholding experiences were shown in the Channel 4 River Cottage series and led to the publication of The River Cottage Cookbook (2001), which won the Glenfiddich Trophy and the André Simon Food Book of the Year awards.

The success of the show and the books allowed Hugh to establish River Cottage HQ near Bridport in 2004. The HQ moved in 2006 to a farm near the Dorset/Devon border, where visitors can take a variety of courses.

In exchange, ProCook is offering, through River Cottage, the chance to win a 10-piece Professional Stainless Steel Cookware set worth worth £604. The set includes 14cm, 16cm & 18cm saucepans with lids, 20cm & 28cm frying pans, 20cm & 24cm stockpots with lids, 28cm sauteuse pan with lid, 28cm shallow casserole with lid and a 20cm steamer insert.

The ProCook brand was founded in 1996 and trades via 19 stores, regular mail order catalogues and a fully transactional website.
