The Product of the Year Awards has announced that the award-winning comedian Adam Bloom is to be this year’s compere.
Bloom’s television credits include Never Mind The Buzzcocks, The Stand Up Show and Channel 4’s Comedy Lab, and he has won several awards for his sell-out stand-up shows.
He performed his first solo show at the 1996 Edinburgh Festival, which was quickly followed by the Adam Bloom Show in 1997. In 1998 he won the Time Out Award for Best Stand Up.
Bloom also performed sell-out solo shows at the 1999, 2001 and 2004 Edinburgh Festivals, and has performed at comedy festivals across the globe, including Montreal, Melbourne and Cape Town.
The Office star Ricky Gervais has named him as one of his own favourite stand-ups.
Bloom will be taking the reins at the Product of the Year Awards 2011, which celebrate the best of product innovation and design from the past 12 months. This prestigious event, including a drinks reception and three-course lunch, will take place at the Park Lane Hotel, London on May 13.
