Sainsbury’s and Argos are recruiting 11,500 temporary colleagues to work for them during the Black Friday and Christmas periods.
A total of 5,500 jobs are available at Sainsbury’s and 6,000 at Argos. Both retailers are also offering extra hours to colleagues who may want extra work in the run-up to Christmas.
Roles at Sainsbury’s range from café and counter colleagues to online assistants, drivers and cyclists to help deliver festive orders to customers’ doorsteps. The jobs will be contracted for up to three months with an average of 15 contracted hours per week.
Argos is looking for 5,000 customer advisors and stock assistants and 1,000 delivery drivers. It aims to offer the majority of colleagues 20 hours per week contracts, with fewer contracted hours available on request.
Some seasonal roles across both Sainsbury’s and Argos have the potential to become permanent, where vacancies exist.
