Scrub Daddy UK has submitted plans for a new headquarters and warehouse in Tiverton to support its expansion, with its workforce expected to grow from around 75 to 140 over the next three to six years.
The cleaning products company is seeking approval for a development off Barberry Way, near the A361, which would retain its UK and European headquarters in Mid Devon.
According to planning documents, the proposed building would provide approximately 35,000 sq ft of warehouse space and 15,000 sq ft of offices across three storeys. It would accommodate product assembly, packing, storage and dispatch to retailers and online customers, with no manufacturing or processing taking place.
The business has operated from Tiverton since 2015, but said its existing premises at Ormidale Square are approaching capacity. Limited warehouse space means stock is already stored across several locations, while temporary office accommodation has been considered to accommodate recruitment.
The planning statement says alternative sites in Cullompton, South Molton, Wellington and Exeter were assessed but discounted for reasons including size, cost, location and ground conditions. Other European locations have also been considered by the wider group, although the company’s preference is to remain in Mid Devon.
Scrub Daddy hopes to move into the building in the first half of 2028, subject to planning approval and construction.
