Shortlist announced for Gift of the Year 2017 awards

The Giftware Association (GA) has attracted a record-breaking number of entries for its Gift of the Year awards.

This year the number of suppliers submitting products for judging increased by 61%.The number of entries – 1,085 – easily surpassed the total for the 2016 competition which, at 759, was the largest recorded.

GA chief executive Sarah Ward commented: “This is great news and demonstrates that gift and home companies increasingly recognise that Gift of the Year not only raises their profile but helps them to increase sales.

“It’s particularly pleasing that around half of the companies that entered were not members of The GA, proving that Gift of the Year’s prestige and pulling power extends across the whole of our industry.”

“We have been out and about at a number of autumn trade events spotting talent and urging those with strong, new, products to take the plunge and enter.”

The winners will be selected on January 12 and the awards will be presented at a special ceremony at the Spring Fair at the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday, February 5.
