Squire’s Garden Centre on Badshot Lea Road in the Surrey town of Farnham has opened a florist shop-in-shop.
Independent retailer Petal & Stem has moved from Weybourne Road in Farnham to a prime position just inside the entrance of the centre.
Run by local resident Lucie Saggs – who is a former Squire’s employee – Petal & Stem has built a strong following locally selling cut flowers for all occasions. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, while Squire’s is open every day of the week.
Lucie said: “I loved my time working at Squire’s and have been coming back regularly as a customer since I left six years ago. Having my own shop-in-shop here is perfect in so many ways: it’s wonderful to meet up again with so many of the same Squire’s customers, to welcome my own customers from Weybourne Road, and to be back working with the friendly Squire’s team. It’s like coming home! Squire’s is a great location with plenty of free parking, and strong footfall, which is so vital for a small business like mine.”
Squire’s Garden Centres chairman Sarah Squire added: “It’s fantastic to welcome Lucie back to Squire’s in Badshot Lea, bringing a service that many of our customers have asked for. There is a natural synergy between a floristry and the plants we offer, and it has long been a dream of ours to be able to offer floristry at the centre. We are delighted to work with such a talented local independent florist. I’m so pleased that the sight of fresh flowers greets customers as soon as they enter the centre.”
Squire’s Garden Centres is a family-owned horticultural business that operates 15 centres across Surrey, Sussex, north London and west London.
