Steamer Trading hits the north again

Steamer Trading Cookshop has revealed the location of its next store: Northallerton in North Yorkshire.

The shop, which only exchanged last week, will open at the end of October. Measuring 2,500 sq ft on a single floor, it will be housed in a Grade II listed building on the High Street.

Earlier this year Steamer revealed plans to open a new store in Glasgow, which will be its first in Scotland. Measuring 4,000sq ft over two floors, it is located on Gordon Street – one of city’s busiest shopping districts – alongside the Central Station.

Another shop is due to open soon too, in the Lincolnshire market town of Stamford. Measuring just over 2,000sq ft over two floors, it is a Grade II* listed building on the High Street, with an original shopfront dating back to 1770.

In terms of timings, Steamer Trading Cookshop managing director Ben Phillips said Glasgow is scheduled to open in October and will probably come just after Stamford.

He added that no further openings are planned for 2013. “That’s it for this year,” he told www.HousewaresLive.net.

Steamer Trading Cookshop is headquartered in the East Sussex town of Lewes. The group currently operates 28 stores from Bournemouth to Beverley and from Canterbury to Chester with total annual sales of more than £20m.
