Horwood’s Stellar Eazistore set of three nesting saucepans has won the Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Award.

Now in its tenth year, the awards received nearly 600 applications, with entries being judged on three criteria: whether the innovation breaks with conventional ideas or processes in its field, whether it goes beyond marginal improvements on something that already exists and whether it will have a wide impact on future technology in its field or in other fields.
The nesting set was the creation of Gavin Thomson Design, and addresses the problem of storing pans neatly and compactly.
The largest pan holds the middle-size pan, which in turn holds the smallest. Each permanently-attached handle rests inside the hollowed-out grip of the next larger pan, and the lids all nest together on the top.
The patented design was licensed to Stellar brands, and the first Eazistore products were introduced to the UK in March.
