Bryan Clover, CEO at Rainy Day Trust, is undertaking the gruelling Thames Path Ultra Challenge on Saturday 10 September to raise money for the charity. The challenge involved hiking along the River Thames, from Putney Bridge to Henley-on-Thames – a total of 60 miles non-stop in 24 hours.
Bryan commented: “Last September I hiked the 84 in 48; an 84 mile hike non-stop over 48 hours which was, well, painful to say the least. Having sworn that I would never do it again, here I am… After much deliberation, I have decided to embark on another Ultra Hike. This time, just for fun, I’ve decided to really pitch it against the clock by joining an organised hike – the Thames Path Challenge – Ultra Challenge.
“I’m partly doing this to lose some weight as having a fitness goal for September will force me to train and get out with my backpack, but mainly I just miss the hiking and the peace and quiet. As the Mad March Million has proven time and again, getting out and about is a fantastic resource for improving our mental health.
“Now where did I put my boots?”
Bryan is looking for a major sponsor who wants to take the lead and get their brand out there for all to see, including the hundreds of other walkers, so if your business would like to be part of this madness please e-mail bryan@rainydaytrust.org.uk
