Tefal has announced a one-year partnership with the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now, as part of its ‘Act for All’ mission and commitment to being by people’s side for every moment of everyday life.
Tefal will become Breast Cancer Now’s leading partner in the home appliances sector, committing to raising a minimum of £50,000 through corporate and consumer initiatives, including fundraising events and donations tied to product purchases.
Amrit Kalher Marketing Manager at Tefal said: “As a brand that’s part of people’s everyday routines, we have an opportunity to use those familiar moments at home to prompt awareness in a simple, supportive way, because noticing a change early can make a real difference. At Tefal, our mission is to make everyday life easier, for both the planned moments and the unexpected ones, and helping people feel more confident about their health is part of that.
“We’re honoured to work with Breast Cancer Now and to help make breast health conversations feel more normal and less daunting. Through supporting Afternoon Tea, building in easy ways for customers to donate, and sharing Touch Look Check prompts, our aim is straightforward: help more people turn small everyday actions into meaningful support.”
Built on the ethos that small reminders can make a big difference, the partnership will bring together fundraising, awareness and everyday “prompt” moments designed to help normalise conversations around breast health and breast cancer awareness.
Tefal will be the headline £60,000 sponsor of Breast Cancer Now’s annual Afternoon Tea activity, one of the charity’s most important annual mass participation fundraising campaigns, where thousands of people host their own Afternoon Teas to spark open conversations about breast cancer and raise funds for Breast Cancer Now’s life-changing science and support.
Everyday reminders designed around customers’ routines will be integrated into Tefal’s products, as habits are formed around simple and regular prompts. Later this year, breast-check reminders will be added to Tefal’s best-selling Includeo Kettle. The kettle will also come with Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Touch Look Check’ information to encourage women to check their breasts and ensure consumers know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer which will help ensure early detection.
In addition, the Includeo Kettle will form part of Tefal’s Feel Good Range – a selection of limited-edition products set to launch through 2026 where a £1 donation from every purchase will go to Breast Cancer Now. The Feel Good Range will also include limited-edition pink Pure Pop garment steamers which are set to appear backstage at The Show by Breast Cancer Now, a unique fashion show that goes beyond style to raise awareness and inspire change. A collection of the pink Pure Pop steamers will be provided by Tefal for use by The Show’s stylist Rebekah Roy and 24 models living with or beyond breast cancer.
The introduction of pink branding across key products and brand moments will be integrated to raise awareness of the campaign and resonance with customers.
Rachael Franklin, Chief Engagement Officer at Breast Cancer Now, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Tefal for their support, which will help Breast Cancer Now to move another step closer to achieving our bold vision that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well. Having them on board as our headline sponsor of Afternoon Tea, will be invaluable in encouraging more people than ever to come together with their friends and family over a cup of tea and raising vital funds for the charity.
“Our work has never been needed more, and the shocking truth is that almost one million people in the UK are living with or beyond breast cancer and this number is rising. Together, thanks to Tefal and their customers, we can make change happen now and fund even more of our amazing science and support. We’re relentless in our determination to be Breast Cancer Now until we’re Breast Cancer Never but we can’t achieve this alone.”
Around 920,000 people in the UK are living with or beyond breast cancer. While it’s much more prevalent in women, with around 55,000 women being diagnosed with breast cancer every year, around 400 men are also diagnosed each year – that’s more than one a day.
