Tendence moves dates to cater for cautious ordering

As of next year, Frankfurt’s Tendence autumn fair is moving from its new July slot back to its traditional dates at the end of August.

Tendence moves dates to cater for cautious ordering

Organiser Messe Frankfurt says it has taken the decision following an extensive poll of exhibitors and visitors conducted over recent weeks, which

showed that around two thirds wanted a return to the early autumn dates.

Tendence moved to early July in 2008 and 2009 after a similar poll amongst exhibitors and visitors – but Messe Frankfurt says that the change in ordering behaviour predicted by the surveys failed to materialise.

“In these difficult economic times, planning certainty has top priority for the trade and this is to be seen in a more conservative ordering policy with orders being placed at shorter notice,” commented board member Dr Michael Peters.

Tendence presents the latest trends for the coming winter season and provides an outlook of trends for the spring and summer of the following year.

Tendence 2010 will now be held in Frankfurt from August 27 to 31.
