This year’s London Gift Fair cancelled

The 2011 edition of the fledgling London Gift Fair, which would have run for the second time in September, has been cancelled.
Organiser Clarion Events said it had reached “the difficult decision” as a result of the tough economic climate.

The exhibition was launched last year after research amongst potential exhibitors and buyers identified a gap in the market for a general giftware show in London.

Clarion says that following the 2010 fair it “continued to receive fantastic support from exhibitors and buyers alike”.

However, in a statement released today it explains: “Given the current market conditions, it is felt that while there is an industry need for London Gift Fair, in the interest of best serving the market, the right decision is to postpone the show until market conditions improve.”

Clarion adds that the postponement of the London Gift Fair has enabled the next phase of Top Drawer’s development to be brought forward and that this September’s event will now grow into Olympia’s National Hall.
