‘Wahaca: Mexican Food at Home’ has only just been published, but it’s already earning a high ranking in the UK’s weekly non-fiction hardback chart.

Written by Thomasina Miers, 2005 MasterChef winner and co-founder of the Mexican restaurant group Wahaca, the book is a collection of over 130 recipes inspired by the flavours of Mexico but using ingredients easily found in Britain.

It takes eighth place for the week ending June 24 in Nielsen Bookscan TCM’s weekly bestseller chart for the UK, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 retailers representing over 90% of the UK book market.

The number one spot in the chart is held by Gok Wan. Total sales of the style guru’s ‘Gok Cooks Chinese’ book on Chinese cooking have reached 50,936 to date.

Three other cookbooks appear in the top 10: ‘The Little Paris Kitchen’ by Rachel Khoo is at number seven, with ‘Hairy Bikers’ Big Book of Baking’ by Si King & Dave Myers is in ninth place and ‘A Passion for Baking’ by Jo Wheatley, the 2011 winner of The Great British Bake Off, at 10.
