Housewares chain Steamer Trading Cookshop opened a new store in Taunton last month and plans to launch a branch in Harrogate next month.
The Taunton outlet (pictured) opened in mid-June on the high street of the Somerset market town. The specialist retailer said: “With its distinctive façade (which is strikingly similar to that of our Lewes store) it continues Steamer Trading’s long tradition of selecting the most charming buildings for our stores.
“With its weekly markets, bistros and tea rooms, our Taunton store sits perfectly in the town centre and will no doubt be assisting many of the local chefs and food connoisseurs over the years to come.”
A branch is set to follow in the North Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate in early August. Steamer Trading Cookshop operates 33 stores nationwide, varying in size from 800sq ft to 7,000sq ft, and stocks a total of 10,000 products from 300 suppliers. Key brands include KitchenAid, Dualit, Joseph Joseph, Le Creuset, Kitchen Craft, Robert Welch Designs, De’Longhi, Magimix, LSA, Cole & Mason and Tala.
Last year saw the opening of Steamer Trading Cookshop’s first non-high street stores in Bluewater shopping centre and West Quay in Southampton while in 2013, it launched stores in Stamford, Northallerton and Glasgow (its first Scottish store). The business celebrates its 30th birthday this year.
