Typhoon’s GreenPan cookware collection walked away with the Best Product at Show award at last week’s Autumn Fair.

The eight ranges, consisting of saucepans, frypans, casserole dishes, woks, grill pans and sauté pans, along with their packaging, consist of recycled elements.
However, the main green feature of the pans lies in the non-stick coating. GreenPans are coated with Thermolon, a ceramic non-stick that is free from PTFE and manufactured without PFOA.
Typhoon says Thermolon is twice as efficient as PTFE coatings in terms of its energy demand in the curing oven. Halving the curing energy per pan reduces the amount of CO2 generated.
The pans are also heat resistant to 450 deg C, compared to the 260 deg C offered by traditional non-stick pans, providing extra durability to the interior surface.
The award judges – a team of Cookware & Housewares Association members – decided that the overall product range was good, with an appealing design, look and feel, good functionality, and liked the environmentally-friendly surface.
