A recall of Bosch Tassimo single-cup coffee makers in the US and Canada does not apply to those same products that are sold in the UK market.

The recall involves Tassimo machines bearing the Bosch brand name and Tassimo Professional machines, both of which pose a burn hazard. Some 835,000 units have been recalled in the US and a further 900,000 in Canada.
The products use plastic T-discs that are filled with coffee or tea to brew hot drinks. In the defective products the disc is liable to burst and spray hot liquid and coffee grounds or tea leaves onto the user.
However, a spokesperson for Bosch in the UK told HousewaresLive.net: “The Bosch action is a corrective action, with customers being issued with a replacement T-disc holder, whilst the recall applies to certain T-discs that are manufactured and sold only in the US and Canada.”
The products in question were manufactured in Slovenia and China.
There have been 140 reports of incidents with the products in the US and Canada, 37 of which involved second-degree burn injuries.
