Amongst the winners were British companies Joseph Joseph and Robert Welch.

The International Housewares Association manages product submission and the judging of the products, which had to have been introduced to the US market between October 1 2010 and September 30 2011. The awards programme picks 12 Best in Category winners and then three Best of the Best from those.

In the Gadgets & Kitchen Tools category, Chef’n Corporation won with its SleekStor Pinch+Pour beakers, and went on to take Silver in Best of the Best. The Pinch+Pour technology provides a flexible silicone form that can be pinched to create a pour spout, coupled with a sturdy nylon core that helps the beakers retain their shape.

In Cookware & Bakeware, Welcome Home Brands took the award for its paper bakeware, and also took Bronze in Best of the Best. The range offers decorative, oven-safe paper bakeware in freestanding forms into which mixture can be poured and which can then be placed directly into the oven.

The Gold Best of the Best award went to Swizz Style for its Stadler Form Anna fan heater, which won in the Home Environment Appliances category.

In other categories, Jura Capresso’s Jura Impressa J9 One Touch TFT won in Countertop Cooking & Beverage Appliances; Cuisinart’s Blend and Cook soupmaker in Countertop Food Prep Appliances; Joseph Joseph’s No-Spill Mill electric salt and pepper mill with closing base in Countertop Kitchenware; Robert Welch’s Signature range in Cutlery; Black + Blum’s Lunch Pot in Tableware, Serveware & Beverageware; Electrolux Home Care Products’ Nimble in Floor Care & Cleaning Appliances; Cool Gear International’s Go Gear Travel Tubes in Home Organization, Laundry Care & Non-Electric Cleaning; Nambe’s Elbow photo frame in Home & Outdoor Décor; and Spectrum Brands’ Remington Pro Power Series haircut & beard trimmer in Personal, Health & Garment Care.
