A range of wooden outdoor brooms is now being manufactured by housewares supplier What More UK at its 500,000sq. ft facility in East Lancashire.
Although better known for its plastic Wham brand products – from storage boxes to gardening lines – What More UK is diversifying into traditional brushware.
The wooden-headed outdoor brooms are part of the DIY range marketed under What More’s Wham brand. They are available in five head sizes; a 9in deck scrub brush, 12in indoor or outdoor broom, 13in heavy duty long-bristled yard broom, 18in driveway broom and an extra-wide 24in patio and driveway broom.
With synthetic fibre bristles, the broom heads are paired to heavy duty coated tubular steel handles in a choice of two lengths. Wood for the broom heads is from sustainable sources and licensed by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC).
What More UK director Tony Grimshaw said: “We might be living in a digital age, but who doesn’t need a proper quality old-fashioned yard brush from time to time?
“It’s a household essential, and that’s what Wham is all about – supplying top quality British-made housewares at the keenest possible prices through our network of retailers across the UK and worldwide.”
What More UK now exports to 63 countries worldwide and holds the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. It has more than 650 products, most of which are manufactured at its purpose-built facility at Altham Business Park.
