Back to business as usual at Lakeland

The recent flooding in Cumbria has prompted Lakeland to issue a message of reassurance to customers.

Sam Rayner, managing director of the housewares chain which is headquartered in Windermere, said: “There’s no doubting the last few days have been grim, but we’ve come through it. While this is certainly a tough time for many people in Cumbria, if we have one message for everybody outside our county, it is that Cumbria is still open for business.

“In terms of our own business, I’m pleased to say that it’s good news from Lakeland. The team at our distribution centre in Kendal have worked incredibly hard over the last few days to get us back on track and we are now back to business as usual. We are despatching orders within a day or two of them being placed and our stores are full of stock.”
