Bake Off fever set to sweep the nation

The latest series of The Great British Bake Off will be back on TV screens on Wednesday 6th August (BBC1, 8pm) and suppliers are encouraging retailers to stock up on equipment that budding bakers may want to buy to recreate the dishes at home.

Bake Off fever set to sweep the nation

The Rayware Group, which is a regular supplier of its Mason Cash mixing bowls, Kilner jars and Typhoon Vintage Kitchen storage to TV programmes across all networks, has definitely found spikes of interest when programmes like The Great British Bake Off, MasterChef and The Taste are transmitted.

Rayware head of marketing Kate O’Neill said:”If the media really get behind a series, like the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off or MasterChef, then interest in baking and cooking can often be replicated in-store, driving demand up the chain to our retail partners. We try to anticipate what the interest is likely to be and make sure we have plenty of stock available.

“This unprecedented interest in baking in particular also coincides with the centenary commemorations of the start of World War One, so we have seen our Mason Cash Cane mixing bowl (pictured) appear in features in titles such as The Sunday Telegraph. The iconic product is as popular now as it was when it was first created in 1901.”
