The International Home and Housewares Show is considering a move from Chicago to rival venues in Las Vegas or Orlando in 2012.
The event has been a Chicago mainstay for more than 70 years. Organisers are currently assessing whether it should remain at the McCormick Place Convention Center or move to rival venues in Orlando or Las Vegas.
The International Housewares Association’s show attracts around 60,000 visitors and generates $75m in spending. The 2010 show will be held March 14 to 16, with McCormick Place booked until 2012.
The move follows the recent announcement by show organisers GLM that it would be moving the Gourmet Housewares Show from San Francisco to New York in 2011.
