Dexam has taken on UK distributorship of the US-made Anchor Hocking range of glass kitchenware.

The collection includes bakeware, oven-to-tableware, mixing bowls, measuring jugs and glasses, serving ware and storage jars.

All products are made of soda lime glass, which Dexam says has a clearer finish than borosilicate glass and uses a more environmentally responsible manufacturing process. The glass is also tempered so will not break into shards if broken; instead, the products fracture like car windscreens.

The products are oven safe to 220 deg C, are freezer and microwave safe, and carry a five-year warranty.

Meanwhile, Dexam has announced the winner of the competition it ran at Exclusively Housewares earlier this month. Nearest to guessing the number of sweets in an Anchor Hocking 8 litre Heritage storage jar was Delia Manning of Delia’s Cookshop in Cork – who was just 115 out from the official count of 4,885 sweets.
