Garden industry event will highlight business opportunities

The Garden Industry Manufacturers Association is holding a one-day conference later this month that will provide an insight into how garden centres operate and the business opportunities they offer.

Amongst the speakers will be Guy Topping, managing director of Barton Grange Garden Centre, who will talk about how the business has grown its turnover from £2m to £14m, while directors from Klondyke Garden Centres will reveal the company’s approach to buying and ranging, pricing and supplier relations.

Horticulturist Pippa Greenwood will give her take on opportunities within the grow-your-own market, and there will also be presentations on the GLEE show and how to make the most of exhibitions in general.
