Awards have been handed out to top homewares products and retailers in the eighth annual House Beautiful Awards.

The event, which presents accolades in 26 categories, also identified the nation’s favourite home television celebrity.

Readers of the magazine voted for three of the awards. The others were judged by a panel that included homewares experts including John Rocha, Jeff Banks, Sophie Conran, Nick Munro, Lisa Stickley and House Beautiful’s editor Julia Goodwin.

In the Best of British category the gold award went to Emma Bridgewater’s Red Star range, while the Best Household Gadget was named as Bosch’s Styline kettle. Silver in this category went to the Griddle and Grill by Cuisinart.

Gold in the Best Tableware or Cookware category went to Matti by Jamie at Home, with silver claimed by Sainsbury’s Cook’s Collection cast iron range.

In the three reader-voted categories, Best Home Retailer was named as Dunelm Mill, with John Lewis being awarded silver. However, John Lewis scooped gold in the Best Online Retailer category, with Lakeland taking silver.

Favourite Home-Related Celebrity went to George Clarke, with Alan Titchmarsh taking silver.

The other awards went to categories including bathroom, floorcoverings, DIY, fabric, furniture, garden, heating, lighting, kitchen, soft furnishings, storage, wallcoverings and white goods.
