John Lewis’s new shop in Exeter will be opening on Friday October 12, it was announced this week.
The 65,000 sq ft shop will be the retailer’s first flexible format department store, offering customers a full John Lewis assortment including home, fashion, nursery, consumer electronics and beauty.
As well as being the biggest John Lewis shop opening this year, it will be the retailer’s first shop to open in Devon and Cornwall, said branch manager Kate Connock. ‘It’s fantastic to see momentum build as the shop starts to really take shape,’ she added.
Work is well under way on the internal fit-out of the building, with all 10 escalators installed and work set to begin on partition walls, lighting and flooring in the coming weeks.
Established John Lewis Partners will help to launch John Lewis Exeter, with tasks including running assessment days and training.
