John Rae of Dexam set to retire

John Rae, buying director of housewares distributor Dexam, has decided to take early retirement at the end of March.

He has spent the past 27 years working with Dexam. He started as an area sales manager for Scotland, North of England and Northern Ireland, before being promoted to field sales manager, sales director, and finally his present position as buying director.

John said: “Throughout the years I’ve been fortunate enough to do lots of travelling, visiting many interesting places and meeting lots of different people, many of whom have become close friends. I just want to say a massive thanks to Dexam for giving me all of these wonderful opportunities and for being such a supportive company to work for.

“I bid a fond farewell to all of the colleagues, retailers, suppliers and manufacturers I’ve been associated with over the years and wish you all every success in the future. It’s an overused cliché that our industry is one of the nicest and most fun to be involved with in the retail sector, but I strongly believe this is the case and is made so by the people who are involved in it.”
