On TV tonight: The Cook Who Changed Our Lives

Celebrity cook Nigella Lawson leads a tribute to food writer Anna Del Conte tonight (Thursday December 22) on BBC Two at 18.30.

Anna is widely recognised as one of the leading figures in raising awareness and appreciation of Italian cuisine.

She was born in Milan in 1925 and moved to England in 1949. Her books include ‘Portrait of Pasta’ and ‘Secrets of an Italian Kitchen’, which cover both recipes and food history.

In 2011 Nigella presented Anna with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Guild of Food Writers.

Tonight’s profile, entitled ‘The Cook Who Changed Our Lives’, includes contributions from Giorgio Locatelli, Antonio Carluccio, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Prue Leith and Tom Parker Bowles.
