OXO has renewed its partnership with The Felix Project, reaffirming its commitment to tackling food waste and supporting local communities for a sixth consecutive year.
As part of the collaboration, which is supported through OXO’s 1% for the Planet programme, members of the brand’s UK and EMEA team recently took part in a volunteering day with the charity, working alongside Felix volunteers to help redistribute surplus food to people experiencing hardship.
During the day, the team collected surplus food from supermarkets, sorted donations in the charity’s warehouse, loaded and unloaded delivery vehicles, and helped deliver food to charities, food banks and community groups.
The volunteering initiative gave employees first-hand experience of the charity’s work and the impact it has on communities by rescuing surplus food that would otherwise go to waste.
Hannah Woodhams said: “It was a privilege to spend the day volunteering with the Felix team, who were all incredibly welcoming. Seeing the scale of work involved in redistributing surplus food to those who need it most was both eye-opening and inspiring.
“Meeting the volunteers and community groups really brought home the positive impact Felix has across our region. It was humbling to see the difference the charity makes to people facing hardship and hunger, and we’re proud to continue supporting such an important cause through our long-term partnership.”
The renewed partnership marks the sixth year that OXO has supported The Felix Project through its environmental and community initiatives.
