Rick Stein spotted at Top Drawer

Celebrity chef Rick Stein OBE paid a visit to London trade show Top Drawer on Sunday (January 15).

He was seen on the stand of BlissHome, which used the exhibition to introduce a new tabletop collection from the Cornwell-based restaurateur, cookbook author and television presenter.

‘Coves’ is a ceramic design inspired by the land and seascape of Cornish coves. It was the winning entry in a competition that Rick launched to final year design students at Falmouth University in Cornwall.

At the time of judging, Rick said: “It was a great experience working with students from Falmouth University who took on the project with enormous enthusiasm and professionalism. I was very impressed with the quality of everything submitted – so much so that actually it was very hard to choose a winner.”

The range includes plates and bowls, plus a platter, jug and salad bowl. It is due in store in April.

Rick appears on BBC2 tonight at 7pm as the star of ‘Rick Stein’s Long Weekends’. In the show, he visits the Greek city of Thessaloniki to sample its cuisine.

BlissHome is exhibiting its offer for Spring/Summer at Top Drawer, which includes giftware by Scion Living, Marble tableware, new textiles from Emily Bond and home fragrance by Takahashi Hiroko.

Top Drawer Spring/Summer 2017 opened its doors on Sunday and ends today (January 17) at 5pm. The event, at Olympia, offers thousands of the latest products across four categories: Home, Gift, Fashion and Craft.
