Argos stores are expected to suffer product shortages as a result of a recent vote by workers to go on strike.

The problem is likely to be compounded by the fact that the retailer’s latest catalogue is due to be launched soon.
Staff at four of Argos’ distribution centres, in Basildon, Bridgwater, Heywood and Magna Park, Leicestershire, have rejected a 4% pay offer, which the Unite union has described as “below inflation”.
A series of 24-hour strikes and a four-day stoppage have been threatened. Dates of the action are due to be announced later this week.
Argos owner Home Retail Group said it had contingency plans in place.
