Swan launches next generation of the classic Teasmade

The nation’s love affair with the electric automatic Teasmade can be traced back to 1932 when the first model was developed. By the 1960s, over 300,000 units were sold every year and around 2m households had one.

Now, the Teasmade has been totally redesigned to include a host of top-of-the-range features.

The product has a sleek, compact new design and combines tea maker, illuminated LCD clock and alarm to signal when boiling has completed. The tea maker has a 600ml water capacity, and there is a rapid water boiling function. There is also an integral reading light.

A high quality ceramic tea pot and lid are included.

Swan commercial director Rob Wileman said: “It is our intention to totally rejuvenate the Swan brand in the UK market. The Swan Teasmade was one of our most successful selling electrical products and it seemed only fitting that we should start the process off with this classic, now given a 21st century makeover.”

He added that more such top selling products were in the pipeline.

The new Swan Teasmade STM100 will be available from mid October.
