Victorinox has expanded its UK Chef Ambassador programme with the appointment of Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks.
The chef and restaurateur, who co-owns The Black Swan at Oldstead and Roots in York, joins the Swiss brand’s ambassador family following the recent appointment of fellow chef Jackson Boxer.
Mr Banks will work with Victorinox to promote its Kitchen and Professional Knives ranges, bringing his culinary expertise and industry profile to support the brand’s presence across both the professional and consumer markets.
Victorinox said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship, quality and sustainability. Mr Banks, whose cooking philosophy is rooted in seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, has built a reputation for championing British produce and sustainable practices across his restaurant portfolio.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr Banks said he has used Victorinox knives throughout his career and regularly recommends the brand to young chefs entering the profession.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Victorinox ever since I got my first set of knives in the kitchen, some of them I still use today,” he said. “Their knives are known for their quality, reliability and craftsmanship, which is why I’ve recommended them for years to every young chef who comes through our kitchens.”
Victorinox CEO Carl Elsener said Mr Banks’ focus on quality materials, attention to detail and consistently high standards made him a natural fit for the ambassador programme.
The announcement comes as Victorinox continues to broaden its kitchen category offering beyond knives. Alongside its established cutlery collections, the company has introduced a new range of 16 kitchen utensils, including graters, zesters, pizza and cheese slicers, spatulas, grill turners and precision tweezers, aimed at both professional chefs and home cooks.
Among the brand’s core ranges is the Swiss Classic collection, which combines European steel blades with lightweight ergonomic handles designed for everyday food preparation. Victorinox is also continuing to develop its premium Wood Collection, pairing stainless steel blades with traditional wooden handles for consumers seeking a more classic kitchen aesthetic.
Mr Banks will make his first official appearance as a Victorinox ambassador at Exclusively Housewares in London on June 9, where he will join the Victorinox team to showcase new products from the Kitchen & Commercial Knives portfolio.
The appointment underlines Victorinox’s ongoing investment in chef partnerships as the brand looks to strengthen its position across both the professional catering and premium housewares sectors.
