Wayfair UK has teamed up with Pinterest for a new campaign exploring the home and interiors trends catching shoppers’ attention, with cosy living spaces and bold, colourful décor emerging as two key styles.
The collaboration uses Pinterest search data to identify emerging consumer preferences and turn them into shoppable product collections, helping customers discover and recreate the latest looks in their homes.
The first stage of the campaign, called ‘Wayfair Wishlist’, analysed trends gaining popularity among UK Pinterest users over a 12-month period.
Two distinct styles emerged: ‘Cosy Spaces’, which focuses on warmth, comfort and inviting interiors, and ‘Dopamine Décor’, which embraces brighter colours, playful designs and more individual approaches to decorating.
Olivia Sauerwein, Wayfair’s Resident Style Advisor, explained: “Cosy Spaces is centred around warm, comfortable and inviting rooms, while Dopamine Décor takes a more playful approach, embracing bold colour, personality and unexpected details.”
Wayfair used the findings to create curated collections on Pinterest, allowing shoppers to browse products, save their favourites and click through to the retailer’s website to make purchases.
According to the retailer, the first phase delivered a 4.5 per cent incremental sales lift, alongside a 3.5 percentage point increase in action intent and a 2.5 per cent rise in Pin awareness.
Building on those results, the partnership has now launched ‘Wayfair’s Top Pins’, highlighting the 10 home and interiors products that attracted the most engagement during the initial campaign.
The ranking includes everything from bedding and wallpaper to furniture and decorative accessories, offering an insight into the products and styles resonating with UK shoppers.
Among the most popular products are the Silentnight Supersoft Natural Gingham Duvet Set, Cath Kidston Canopy Stripe Wallpaper and two bedspreads from Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen’s Siena collection.
Furniture also features prominently, with a rattan panel bed, upholstered storage bed, TV stand and shell-shaped sofa making the list.
The campaign demonstrates how retailers can use social media trends and consumer search behaviour to inform their product ranges and connect shoppers with the styles they are already exploring online.
For the homewares sector, the findings point towards continued consumer interest in both comforting, understated interiors and more expressive, colourful designs, suggesting shoppers are increasingly looking to bring personality into their homes.
