Woolworths targets tabletop in new TV ads push

The ads support the second phase of the launch of the retailer’s value brand, Worthit! It has been extended with the addition of 300 products, which went into store on Monday. New lines appearing in the ads include a dinnerware set for £4.97 and a cutlery set for £1.79.

The ads, being run during ITV1’s Hell’s Kitchen and C4’s A Place in the Sun, star Darth Vader, Kelly Osbourne and Rolf Harris alongside brand characters Wooly and Worth. One of the ads features Osbourne arriving at Wooly and Worth’s house for dinner; Worth has to rush out to buy Worthit! plates and cutlery.

Woolworths’ brand marketing communications manager Lee Bannister says Worthit! has “already been a success without the main promotional push that these ads spearhead”.

The ads continue the series launched in cinemas in July.
