Bentley is one of The Telegraph’s Brightest Businesses

Charles Bentley is amongst businesses that “are set to be the foundation of the UK’s recovery”, according to The Telegraph national newspaper.
The newspaper has included the Loughborough brush manufacturer in its Britain’s Brightest Businesses report, which celebrates the 1,000 mid-sized companies that have not only survived economic hard times but which are positively thriving.

“Concerns over the health of the economy disguise the fact that thousands of businesses across the UK, such as Charles Bentley and Son Ltd, are growing and generating jobs,” the Telegraph said.

Commenting on the accolade, the company’s managing director, Charles Bentley, said that being included in the list was “reflective of the continuous growth and development the company has enjoyed over the past few years.

“In addition to being the leading manufacturer and distributor of household brooms, brushes and other cleaning products, we’re also continuously developing sales and gaining market share in other associated product areas such as DIY, industrial cleaning and the equine field.”

He said that in Europe the company’s web-based sales were currently growing at a rate of over 50% a year, and that the business was enjoying continuous growth of over 20%.

He went on: “Moving forwards, we’re committed to driving the company to even greater heights from both our base in the East Midlands, which is the central hub for European manufacturing and sales, product design and development, as well as through our Asian factories in Sri Lanka and China.”
