Meyer acquires JWP to expand beyond cookware

Meyer says the deal will give it the chance to grow beyond its core cookware business.

JWP will operate as a completely separate entity within the Meyer Group but, says Meyer, it will reap the benefits of being part of the world’s second largest cookware manufacturer.

JWP founder Jim Wilkinson will continue with the business, and its core product offer will remain unchanged.

Meyer managing director Bob Harrison said: “By purchasing the JWP business and ensuring the right resources are in place, we have an opportunity to grow the company. Meyer is first and foremost a cookware manufacturer and this will always remain its core focus.

“In the past we’ve had to turn down many opportunities to expand Meyer outside of its primary areas of business, but with JWP this type of expansion can now be realised and driven through the company because of its independent operation.

“It’s an exciting time for us and we’re very pleased to welcome JWP into the group,” he added.
