John Lewis: it’s still the shoppers’ favourite

John Lewis has yet again been voted Britain’s favourite retailer.

John Lewis: it’s still the shoppers’ favourite

The survey by retail analysts Verdict Research, which polled over 6,000 shoppers, ranks the department stores first for overall customer satisfaction.

Shoppers were asked to rank high street shops on a number of key criteria: range, price, convenience, quality, service, ambience, facilities and layout.

John Lewis also came top in two individual sectors – homewares and electricals.

The retailer has come either first or second in the programme of surveys ever since it began in 2000: seven times in first place and four times second place.

John Lewis managing director Andy Street said that it was “extremely rewarding for John Lewis to continue to be the UK’s favourite retailer. During the past 12 months Partners have worked very hard to deliver the service that our customers expect.

“This year is likely to see a long, slow recovery. Therefore it is even more important that we continue to provide customers with inspiring products, great value and exceptional service.”
