Lakeland supports RNLI’s Fish Supper fund-raising weekend

lakeland-fish-supper-for-web-jpgHousewares chain Lakeland is the official supporter of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) Fish Supper 2016.

This annual event raises money to support the RNLI’s work. Funded by charitable donations, the lifeboat crews and lifeguards of the RNLI have saved at least 140,000 lives at sea since 1824.

This year, Fish Supper will be held over the weekend of October 14–16. The event is described as a fun way to bring friends and family together for a great meal inspired by the sea.

The funds raised will help support the RNLI’s volunteer crews, by buying kit for crew members or fuel for lifeboats, for example.

Participants sign up online to host a fish-themed supper in their home, invite friends and family, and then collect donations on the day.

A fundraising pack is available that includes a guide to planning the supper, recipes, hosting tips, table name cards, and an envelope for collections.

The Fish Supper can be as simple or as elaborate as the host likes, from serving guests lobster by candlelight or fish finger sandwiches around the kitchen table. It can be held on a date that suits the host’s schedule. But the fundraising total must reach the charity by 26 November. For more information, click on https://fishsupper.rnli.org/sign-up/
