Swan takes its teasmade to North America

British housewares brand Swan has announced that due to customer demand, its Vintage Teasmade will be available in America and Canada for the first time.

Hugely popular in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Swan reintroduced its Teasmade to the market in 2009 and 2010 saw the creation of a limited edition model to help celebrate department store group John Lewis’ 150th anniversary.

Hoping to recreate success in other countries, Swan tested the foreign market earlier this year, which resulted in over 500 consumers registering their interest from Canada and the US. Swan then began its search for a potential partner to help fulfil this demand and has teamed up with global online retailer Amazon, with expected availability of January 2016.

Swan UK managing director Rob Wileman said: “The UK’s fascination with the Teasmade continues and this seems to have translated overseas. We receive regular Teasmade enquiries via our website as well as our social media channels and are thrilled to be able to offer the Vintage model to our international neighbours for the first time.”

It features a built in alarm, 600ml capacity, rapid water boiling, an alarm after boiling function, an illuminated analogue clock, ceramic teapot and cover.
